As much as I love Alynette as you do, I don’t actually saw the last scene between them as anything romantic. I can see how Americans might, but as a person from Norway this is absolutely a platonic scene, even if you where to put in a male and a female. And since French people are much more “touchyfeely” and playful then Norwegians I honestly don’t think they had any romantic intent behind it. I don’t say that because I think they want to avoid a queer relationship, since the creator has stated that he wishes to write some into the show if he’s able to convince the broadcasters, but because I think they just want to showcase a strong and proper friendship.
I also don’t mind that you’re criticising both the main ship and Adrien, because all of what you’re discussing are valid points. We barely see anything from either, and while it might be frustrating for some I personally like it. Like Adrien’s character is something you really have to look for and piece together through the entire season, and just from the fandom alone, you can see how little we knew in the beginning compared to now. I also like that they barely show any proper romance in the main ship, because while it feels like they’re telling us “don’t worry, it’ll happen someday”, it also feels like they’re taking their time showing it to us because they want to make sure we understand why they would work, rather than saying they work because they’re crushing or saying they work because they’re a boy and a girl. So keep on criticising! They’re valid concerns you just kinda hope the show proves you wrong on, like the concern about there being more to story than just a villain of the week scenario.
On another note, as an Norwegian person I might not understand, but what is wrong with the line “it’s the quiet ones you should be afraid of”?? I don’t see anything wrong with or bad with that line, so it would be nice to know why you two thought so.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I get the “it’s different in Europe thing”, but if Mar and Adrien had a scene like that, people would go out of their minds shipping it. So I definitely think there’s a “straight-perception” thing going on. Not that it’s intended to be romantic, I agree, they’re just trying to push their friendship.
Yeah I’m getting more convinced by a lot of your guy’s comments that they’re doing good things with Ladynoir. I’ll try to look at their scenes as team/friendship building in the future, I think they’ll work better that way.
People use that line to refer to how there’s a perception that quiet kids/people are violent.. it’s a pretty dark line.
I agree that putting Adrien in that scene would cause people to go haywire, but they would even if the scene was played down, and they already have for much, much less. And that’s probably because a mix of “obviously will the main boy and the main girl end up” and that the show does push it. I’m thinking more if you replaced Alya with Nino, or Kim, or any other male form the class it would still feel platonic.
Oh, ok, I can see how that is a troublesome line if it really is the official line. Thank you for answering!
