Top 5 Short-Lived Animated Shows – Overly Animated Podcast #362

By: Justin Cummings

Justin Cummings, Andy Potter, and Steve Zec count down their Top 5 animated shows that were gone too soon.

I'm currently studying Communication at Lynchburg College with an emphasis in Electronic Media and a double minor in business and gender studies. I've been a huge fan of animation since I was little and thus have very eclectic tastes. Outside of animation I love Survivor, comic books, and a whole treasure trove of other things.

I’m glad that Spectacular Spiderman and Sym-bionic Titan were mentioned in this podcast. These titles would’ve made it on the top of my list as well. Spectacular Spidey left off on a complete cliffhanger, and was later replaced with the very underwhelming Ultimate Spiderman. Sym-bionic Titan’s end was a little bit more fleshed out, but still left its audience with so many questions. Tartakovsky was just starting to tell a story, and then it was axed. And to add insult to injury, was essentially written off as a wasted expense (correct me if I’m wrong). Both series had so much promise of great stories just waiting to be told. It’s really sad to think about how they never got the chance to see the light of day.

Once again, great podcast! I listened to it during a jog around the neighbourhood, and it made something that’s usually so tedious, much more entertaining. Thank you!
