My feelings for this is like every other volume of RWBY since Vol 2. Wasn’t what I wanted, its what I got, should have been better, but whatevs its still going somewhere.

I am with Renora all the way.

I thought Nora was dead for a moment, anyway I do get the vibe these is 3 acts struggle, this was act 1, so we might have one more season, nothing we get the payoff.

Also surprised Qrow lives as well. And I love the ending credit song.

Funny how one person opinion can differ greatly, I have seen online some people complaining things moved too fast in volume 4, can you believe that?

About the episode itself: Jaune’s the worst strategist ever, and his weapon upgrade sucks. If he was gonna combine his sword with his huge shield to make a bigger sword, why not go all the way and make it like Cloud’s Buster Sword or Guts’ Dragon Slayer. Step up your sword game RT. Renora stuff was good. Ruby’s speech did get to me, but I feel like the season it was attached to didn’t deserve it, which lowered my enjoyment of it. The Grimm was disappointing tbh. I was hoping for something more interesting than “big scary monster, BWARG!” Like, idk, human-like intelligence, shape-shifting, healing factor, aura absorption, or really anything besides (or in addition to) stretchy arms. Other stuff’s ok. Yang’s new design’s cool. Glad to see everything’s FINALLY coming together.
About the season overall: honestly, I don’t care if it’s supposed to be building up to something, it was atrocious. The pacing was terrible, the plot lines didn’t make much sense, the new characters left almost zero impact on me, and it makes me worried that they might repeat this structure for later seasons going forward: academy falls, wait 8 months, spend 4 months walking to next academy, wait 8 months, academy falls, rinse and repeat. I’m considering at least moving to “binge-only” if not outright dropping the series.

Wow nothing really happened this episode…I feel that’s representative of the volume as whole tbh…hype to see the gang back together next volume finally tho
