  1. Steve says:

I can’t believe how many people think Jasper, all over the internet at least half the fans are debating that idea.

It is clear to me, the writers are getting her out of the way temporary while they work on Lapis character development. Jasper just has to wait her turn.

    • Dylan Hysen says:

0% chance Jasper is dead or written off. Yeah she’ll come back at some point and it’s a good way to do Lapis stuff first… All of that being said, definitely an argument for having her randomly fall into the Earth as a lazy way to achieve this and kinda nonsensical. Probably doesn’t matter that much I guess, but it’s bothering me a little.

      • Steve says:

Thanks for reading my past type of course I meant to type “I can’t believe how many people think Jasper is dead”.

I do still think when Jasper meets Centripeedle, that is going to be a big moment for her, I really believe that Centripeedle was one of Jasper’s war companions.

  2. Roy says:

Steven made telepathic contact with Lapis in Chille Tid.

Steven did more than just bubble the Cluster. He talked to it. Where everyone else saw a monster he saw something that needed his help. The shards were broken and confused and he helped them find a means to deal with their pain. A way that wasn’t destructive to those around them. It’s by no way a small feat.

    • Dylan Hysen says:

I agree with all that and it was very thematically poignant, but I don’t think it counters a lot of the questions of the mechanics of how Steven was talking to it and stuff. Obviously from the podcast that didn’t bother me as much as the others, but it’s definitely a question.. how did he do all of that and was it realistic (relative to the show of course)?

      • Roy says:

I assumed that his contact with the Cluster was an extension of what occurred between Steven and Lapis/Jasper/Malachite in Chille Tid. When he contacted them while dreaming. So it was at least hinted at that Steven had this kind of ability.

        • Dylan Hysen says:

Yeah foreshadowed once before in Chille Tid. Interesting to see how they expanded it and what their intentions will be with it in the future.
