We just finished a big Avatar: The Last Airbender Rewatch at the From the Spirit World podcast and I have some takeaways that were different than I thought about Avatar going in!

• 00:00 – Intro
• 00:47 – Avatar does hold up and is still one of the all-time greats
• 02:11 – Book 1 has incredible worldbuilding
• 03:29 – Book 2 is amazing even before Ba Sing Se
• 04:21 – Revisiting Book 3 was wild
• 06:12 – In 2026 the episodes do feel short
• 07:33 – Katara is an incredible, fascinating, and inconsistent character
• 08:30 – Kataang is actually really well done
• 09:50 – Avatar takes the easy way out morally
• 11:07 – Avatar is very blunt
• 11:44 – Avatar is better episodically than serialized
• 12:38 – Ending
