Selene is Zeus’ cousin in original greek mythology. I doubt the show cares that much since getting into actual Greek mythology is too yikes for a cartoon for 5 to 12 year olds.

I can’t help but think that a decent part of “The Outlaw Scrooge MacDuck” is to establish that Gyro is messing around with Time Travel (And if I’m not mistaken, the timepiece being thrown away in ‘The 87-Cent solution’ was what he was messing with in the jail cell). If they’re going to bring in Bubba the Caveduck in this season, that could by why.
