  1. Steve says:

I don’t know why all the hate, I liked the episode, it had all the main characters, it is not like it was a townies episode.

First of all Vidalila is awesome, letting Greg crash in her place when she was away, that was really nice of her.

Well Peal did kidnap Steven in “Spacerace”, so I guess some things don’t change.

Yes this episode represent growth, though it took the 3 original Crystal Gems all this time to grow and mature, but Peridot and even Lapis they grew just as much in such a short period of time.

I hope next winter special, we have Lapis, Perdiot, Connie, the Maheswarren involved.

And lastly I wonder if we will ever see Steven’s babysitter, she would be in late 20’s / early 30’s, be cool to see her.

    • Garfield says:

Assuming that teenager is an existing character, who do you think could fit the description?

And I’m not sure if we will see her because she’d be reliving the moment an entire jungle gym was tossed at her.

  2. Garfield says:

Wouldn’t it be hilarious if we see Steven shave for the first time with the razor Garnet gave him?

  3. Alex says:

    OK, lots of thoughts:

I am intrigued by the idea of Greg being portrayed as he imagines himself, since he’s the one who’s narrating all of these flashbacks. I believe Sour Cream is about six to eight years old in that picture, so I think there was enough time for an extended courtship and discussion of the matters of having a baby.

I recall that Pearl touches Steven’s gem and Steven reacts as if he was tickled. So could it be that newly formed Gems are more sensitive, which would explain why baby Steven had the instinct to allow it to air it out?

Worth pointing out that the kids in that “Dog? Sled?” scene were most likely Buck and Jenny (or Kiki). Vidalia already met Yellowtail, and it seemed he was already a fisherman at that point, so it could be that he took them to a warmer spot on his boat, which would explain why they allowed Greg to housesit during the winter. Barring another new character addition, my belief is that the babysitter is the shirt shop lady that we’ve only seen in background shots, similar to Jane’s (Ronaldo GF) introduction.

Overall, Three Gems and a Baby is better than Onion Gang and worse than Gem Harvest. Decent fluffy episode, and a nice way to ease into the hiatus for me personally.

Love the show, and disappointed in Justin’s low energy. If Dylan is the most hype in a three-person panel, something’s severely wrong.
