I loved this episode, I though “Is It Over” or whatever it is called was the best song, no surprise it is a Pearl song.
I did think the narrative that Greg and Pearl have not gotten along was false, they got along just fine in the present day, they fixed the van and they got along fine in “Space Race” for the most part.
So Steven settle Pearl and Greg problems, now he needs to take Lapis and all one of the gems one at a time on a trip with him and Lapis, to final settle all of Lapis problems with everybody.
If Steven can’t do that, at least settle Ronaldo and Lars conflict.
Well I am just glad Steven and Greg field trip with a Crystal Gem went along better than last time. Speaking of which, I guess it is Amethyst turn next to have a field with Universe and Universe.
Yeah Amethyst’s turn next for a Greg & Steven field trip. But Lapis field trips?? Yes please!
BTW, Dylan have you seen any clips or spoilers from “The New Lars” or the synopsis for “Kiki’s Pizza Delivery Service” I have a theory I want to share with you based on those episodes, it is kind of important. Let me know, if it is okay I will email my theory. It is a big one.

I think it’s easy to get along with someone while there’s a tacit agreement not to acknowledge the elephant in the room. That’s where I feel like Greg and Pearl were at during the Space Race and van fixing. Now I feel like the weirdness has been settled, and I’m glad it wasn’t something that was done before the “show” started.
SU has come a really long way considering it’s first eps. I think season 3 has essentially become a no man’s land for new viewers of the show. In part, I’m glad we get episodes like Dead Beat Dad so new watchers can still tune in and enjoy. But the weight is what’s the real delight, and this latest ep was just feels by the ton load.
I’m down for more Lapis–not because I like Lapis, but because I want to like Lapis. Not really sure what Lapis brings to the table as far as entertainment/personality. She is a character that’s only identity is that she has had interesting pathos-inspiring things happen to her while the other gems are intrinsically interesting. Like, without having it be detailed in the show, I could make a drink/lunch inspired by each of the characters personal tastes (not so much what they look like but based on their personality). I could make something classy and light for Pearl, messy and tasty for Amethyst, etc. Lapis is the only one I don’t really have a finger on in terms of what she likes–she hasn’t really offered anything. I don’t think it’s an oversight, just a lack of her to shine on her own more.

I think Lapis has been characterized really well, she’s just different from the rest of the characters on this show. She’s a person who doesn’t really wear her emotions or thoughts on her face, even if there are a lot of them underneath. I really relate to her on that level. And I think she’s similar in that way to Garnet, a character who also might seem undercharacterized but I think is just not as easy to read as the Pearls of the world. That being said, it’d be really cool to see someone have a completely open talk with Lapis which would enable us to see a lot of what’s underneath. We got into some of it in Whole New World, but there’s definitely more to cover.
The pedals on a piano control loudness and sustain (note continues after releasing its key). They have nothing to do with tone or tune. It is possible to play without them by controlling how long and how hard you press the keys.

“It’s Over” is haunting me at this point. It has been running through my head since I woke up. I’m not sure I’m going to survive this whole event.
